Bamileke beaded head

Each beaded head begins as a sculpted form before glass beads are placed one by one across its surface. Patient, precise and entirely handmade in Cameroon, every piece carries its own rhythm, pattern and presence.

Bead by bead, precision becomes form

The surface is built slowly. Each bead is positioned by hand, following lines and motifs that demand concentration, regularity and an intimate knowledge of the material. The work is meticulous by nature: a fraction of a shift changes the rhythm, making every sculpture subtly different.

A craft transmitted through generations

Beadwork occupies a distinctive place in Bamileke craftsmanship, where decoration, symbolism and status have long met through material and gesture. The contemporary presence of these sculptures comes from that same accumulation of precise gestures, patiently repeated until the form becomes complete.
