A one-of-a-kind collectible wall sculpture by SKajie, hand-carved from solid kolatier wood and transformed through an ancestral burnt-wood technique.
Fire explores transformation not as loss, but as revelation. What disappears under heat allows another surface to emerge. Across the deep charcoal wood, areas left exposed interrupt the darkness like traces of something uncovered rather than destroyed.
The work asks a simple question: what if transformation is not about becoming someone else, but revealing what was already there?
Part of Cartographies of Fire, Fire reflects SKajie’s exploration of change, perception and the forms that emerge when we allow ourselves to be transformed.
